NURS 4501 Capstone: Transitions in Care and Practice

5 SCH. This course will provide the learner with the opportunity to implement a project to transform health anc health policy as nurse leaders in the healthcare system and complete a professional portfolio that showcase their mastery of competencies, accomplishments, and certifications throughout the program.  Learners will synthesize whole health assessments and concepts previously introduced throughout the program to deliver safe and quality nursing care, in various settings with UNTHSC faculty guidance and support. Learners will work 1:1 with an RN preceptor for the completion of 225 clinical hours at a UNTHSC affiliated site or, as a unique opportunity, within their current employer setting.
Prerequisite: Students must complete NURS 4301, 4302, 4303, 4304, 4306, 4307, and 4308. NURS 4305 and a Nursing Elective Course are Co-requisites.
