Overview
To meet student demand for specialized educational options, HSC offers a number of dual-degree and graduate certificate programs. These University-level programs represent partnerships between two HSC colleges, schools, or departments. Students work towards two university degrees at the same time by following an integrated curriculum sequence. These curricula provide students with the opportunity to complete two degrees in less time than it would have taken to complete them separately.
Dual degrees are particularly valuable to students who want one degree that is focused on professional preparation and the other focused on a passion, particular setting, or a special population/issue they want to address in their career. The advantages of dual degrees may include:
- Development of a broad skill set with enhanced professional flexibility
- Accelerated career advancement
- Lower expense than earning two separate degrees
- Expanded networking opportunities compared to those provided by completion of one degree
Benefits of Each Program, Career Paths, and Integrated Curriculum Sequences
The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth (HSC) offers several dual degree opportunities bridging the Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degrees with the Master of Health Administration (MHA), Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Science (MS) and PhD degrees offered within the College of Public Health (CPH) and College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences (CBTS).
