College of Nursing

Mission

To create innovative professional nurses through remarkable education, practice, research, service, and interprofessional collaboration.

Vision

To alleviate health disparities through the development of innovative nursing professionals who instill hope, model exceptional standards, and advocate for their patients, community, and the profession.

Our programs offer a uniquely interdisciplinary approach to nursing education including a well-rounded curriculum with a community-based focus. College of Nursing students will have opportunities for learning, research and providing care to the community with peers from across HSC’s six colleges and schools. HSC’s Whole Health approach educates students in all the factors impacting a person’s well-being – from their environment, community, spiritual life and self-care to their mental, financial and physical health. We provide smaller classes, a flexible learning environment, interdisciplinary learning opportunities and world-class resources.
