NURS 4103 Nursing Care Distinctive to Oncological Health 1 SCH. This course focuses on the rapidly evolving practice needed by baccalaureate prepared nursing students to attain and maintain competency for safe, effective, and adequate care of individuals diagnosed with cancer. Learners will gain a critical understanding of cancer treatment as a complex technological environment reliant on rapid and dynamic changes in science. Topics will include implementing evidence-based practice, focused assessments and screening, supportive interventions to improve quality of life, and the redefinition of “normal” life as a survivor.
