EPID 5300 Principles of Epidemiology

3 SCH. The purpose of this course is to introduce public health students to epidemiology, the study of the distribution and determinants of health-related states in populations. Topics will include describing and measuring health-related events and associated factors, describing disease dynamics, identifying factors that cause and prevent diseases, and other undesirable physical, social and emotional conditions, assessing the public health consequence of disease, and developing skills to evaluation procedures for preventing diseases.
