BMSC 6395 Doctoral Dissertation for PhD Candidates


1-12 SCH. This course is for PhD candidates involved in dissertation research with a specific major professor who will serve as the course director.  The student will perform various tasks related to their research project with guidance provided by the course director. The student is expected to develop biomedical scientific knowledge, research and analytic skills, and communication skills. The student will also engage in professionalism, collegiality, and career development. The student will be evaluated using the Doctor of Philosophy Evaluation of Annual Progress Document and associated rubric. In the final semester of BMSC 6395, the student will be evaluated using the Doctor of Philosophy Evaluation of Dissertation Defense and associated rubric. This course is to be scheduled with consent of department. A maximum of 30 SCH total will be allowed toward the degree requirements. Continuous enrollment in this course is required after initial registration in course. Prerequisite: Completion and filing of approved Doctor of Philosophy Evaluation of research proposal milestone. May be repeated for credit. Student will receive letter grade for final semester only.
