Admissions Requirements and Application Procedures - Master of Health Administration (MHA)
The University of North Texas Health Science Center (HSC) at Fort Worth conducts holistic application reviews. A completed bachelor’s degree or its equivalent is required. No specific degree or prerequisite coursework is required. Furthermore, there are no specific score requirements for GPA.
Applications are reviewed once they have been completed and verified by SOPHAS. The HSC does not offer conditional or provisional admission. All items must be received in order for an application to be reviewed and a decision rendered.
- Applicants to the MHA Online program must have at least two years of relevant healthcare management or health administration experience, and be gainfully employed within the field.
To Apply:
- Create an account and application via SOPHAS online application portal.
- Official transcripts from all universities/colleges attended.
- Submission of essay responses. Students will be required to respond to three specific essay questions detailing their professional and personal background, their experiences, and why they are interested in a health administration degree.
- Three Letters of Recommendation. Ideal sources include academic professors, academic advisors, and employment/internship supervisors. Physician shadowing letters are not recommended. Letters from friends or relatives are never appropriate.
- Resume or CV.
- World Education Service (WES). International Credential Advantage Package (ICAP) course-by-course evaluation of academic records from institutions outside the U.S. and English-speaking Canada (if applicable).
- TOEFL language exam or IELTS score is required for international applicants.
- The GRE exam is not required for the MHA program.

Prospective and current students must notify the proper institution officials regarding any changes in the information provided on their application. Falsification or omission of any information on the application documents will void a student’s admission, cancel their enrollment, and/or result in appropriate disciplinary action.
All materials submitted during the application process become the property of the HSC and cannot be returned.
