MEDE 7313 Mechanisms of Disease 1

Broad topic areas to be emphasized include neoplasia, medical microbiology and infectious diseases (including the basis of antimicrobial pharmacologic intervention), environmental, nutritional disorders, and an overview of diseases of infancy and childhood. Throughout the course, the language of medicine is emphasized in conjunction with morphology, clinical features, and differential diagnoses, where appropriate. In addition, important pathologic aspects of clinical laboratory involvement and data utilization in the diagnosis of disease are discussed.
