Admissions - Master of Science (MS) in Public Health Sciences


Admissions Requirements & Admissions Procedures:

  • A completed bachelor’s degree or its equivalent is required.
  • No specific degree, GPA or prerequisite coursework is required.

The University of North Texas Health Science Center (HSC) at Fort Worth conducts holistic application reviews. Applications are reviewed once they have been completed and verified by SOPHAS. HSC does not offer conditional or provisional admission. All items must be received in order for an application to be reviewed and a decision rendered.

To Apply:

  • Create an account and application via SOPHAS online application portal.
  • Official transcripts from all universities/colleges attended.
  • Statement of Purpose and Objectives (personal statement). This document should describe your interest in the field of study (degree and concentration) to which you are applying, your career goals, how the program will help you reach those goals and why you chose the UNTHSC School of Public Health to pursue your graduate education.
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation. Ideal sources include academic professors, academic advisors and employment/internship supervisors. Physician shadowing letters are not recommended. Letters from friend or relative are never appropriate.
  • Resume or CV
  • Official GRE exam score report.
  • World Education Service (WES). ICAP Course-by-Course evaluation of academic records from institutions outside the U.S. and English-speaking Canada (if applicable). 
  • TOEFL language exam is required for international applicants.
