Master Plan: Growing Facilities

In June 2019, The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth (HSC Fort Worth) purchased the building located at 550 Bailey Ave. The seven-story building will provide administrative space, which will make way for additional research laboratories and classroom space across campus.

The third floor houses the Office of Institutional Real Property, which manages the Bailey building property.

The fifth floor is home to Information Technology departments, including employees with the Office of the CIO, Information Security, Help Desk & Client Services, Product Development & Engineering, and Data Analytics.

The sixth floor houses Research Administration, including the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), the Office of Research Compliance (ORC), Research Development & Commercialization, and the North Texas Regional Institutional Review Board (NTR-IRB).

In October 2018, HSC Fort Worth completed the five-story, 173,000-square-foot Interdisciplinary Research and Education Building (IREB) located at 3430 Camp Bowie Blvd. The building includes café space called The Torched Apron Grill, student lounge areas, a 10,000-square-foot vivarium, classrooms, offices, and research laboratories.

The IREB also serves to improve the outdoor experience at the site by providing outdoor plazas with site furnishings on both the north and south sides of the building, as well as open green space on the southeast corner of the site at the corner of Camp Bowie Boulevard and Darcy Street.
