Certificate in Biomedical Entrepreneurship


The Graduate Certificate in Biomedical Entrepreneurship Program is a certificate program that provides the necessary entrepreneurship skillset for entrepreneurial-minded healthcare providers and biomedical scientists to become biomedical entrepreneurs. This is achieved by offering additional education and training with a real-world application. The average time to complete the program is two semesters.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the curriculum, students will be able to:

  1. Develop and implement a strategy for a new startup or internal biomedical venture.
  2. Demonstrate entrepreneurial skills.

Academic Requirements 

  • Proficiency in English
  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Demonstrated interest in biological sciences, biomedical technology, and entrepreneurship

Admission Process

  • Submit a completed application that includes:
    • Official transcripts from any university of college attended
    • Complete the following essay questions.
      • What is your goal in attending a certificate in entrepreneurship?
      • How do you define entrepreneurship?
      • Describe an experience in which you worked in a team setting to solve a problem.
      • Provide any additional information you would like the admissions committee to consider while reviewing your application.
    • Upload a 1 to 2 minute video pitch (MP4, MOV, WMV, or AVI format) describing yourself and your interest in entrepreneurship.

Curriculum

The certificate program curriculum will consist of 2 semesters of 6 credit hours each or one semester of 6 credit hours and 2 semesters of 3 credit hours each for a total of 12 credit hours. The sequential course design can be started in either the Fall or Spring semesters and offered online.
