PHAN 5303 Physiology and Pathology of the Coronary Circulation

3 SCH. Advanced study of the physiology and pathophysiology of the coronary circulation will be emphasized. Key areas of focus include thoracic and cardiac anatomy, myocardial-coronary interaction, pressure-flow autoregulation, cardiac function, vasomotor and local metabolic control, endothelial dependent and neural control. Approach will utilize of current texts, selected reviews, and original research papers to facilitate interactive group discussion of topics and student led presentations.
Prerequisite: Students must complete PHAN 6400.
