BIOS 5322 Statistical Computing and Visualization 3 SCH. This course covers two commonly used statistical software packages, SAS and R. The goal is to provide knowledge of these software packages to users and help them understand how to acquire, input data from digital or hard copy data sources; inspect and manipulate the data in order to meet the requirements for downstream statistical analysis; perform analyses and procedures using appropriate statistical models and tests; conduct Monte Carlo simulations; and interpret and present findings using outputs and graphing procedures. After taking this course, students will have better understanding of the software packages and know how to use them to conduct data management, perform statistical analysis and simulations, and visualize result outputs. Prerequisite: BIOS 5300 Offered Fall Letter Grade
