MACH 5330 Introduction to Maternal and Child Health

3 SCH. This course introduces students to the field of maternal and child health, including competencies for a maternal and child health (MCH) professional. Emphasis is given to MCH frameworks and historical events for understanding maternal and child health problems and issues. The course critically examines the family conditions, community factors, and public policies that impact the perinatal period. Additionally, students will learn to advocate for the health needs of women, families and children.
