PHAR 5112 Current Technology Trends in Drug R & D

1 SCH. This course serves to organize seminars given by guest speakers, faculty and students to cover the current technology trends in drug discovery research and development. Topics include, but are not limited to, target identification and validation, hit and lead identification, lead optimization, animal models of efficacy, formulation development, clinical development, clinical trials, drug approval, and
post-approval issues. Besides mandatory attendance of seminars given by guest speakers and faculty, each student, in consultation with the course director, will select and study a topic or a new publication, present the findings, and lead a discussion about the selected topic or publication
