PHRM 6440 Methods in Molecular Biology 4 SCH. An intensive laboratory course designed to give students the expertise to perform basic techniques currently utilized in cell and molecular biology. Techniques will include plasmid preparation; isolation of cDNA inserts from various plasmids; extraction of nucleic acids; agarose gel electrophoresis; Northern and Southern blot analyses; cDNA cloning; sequencing and analysis; PCR amplification; protein gel electrophoresis; and immunoblot analysis. Prerequisite: BMSC 6301 and BMSC 6302. Prerequisite: Students must either complete BMSC 5301 and 5302. Offered Summer Letter Grade
