The MSN-PMHNP curriculum is designed to facilitate higher education for BSN-prepared nurses to receive online didactic education and precepted clinical experiences across diverse healthcare environments including inpatient psychiatric facilities, local mental health authorities, community-based settings, and telehealth settings, among others. The 47 semester credit hours (SCH) include coursework to prepare as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner including advanced pharmacology, neurobiology, advanced psychotherapeutic modalities, and four direct care PMHNP practicum courses accounting for 765 direct care clinical education hours.
