MEDE 8631 Core Clerkship - Pediatrics (Rural Scholars Program) 6 SCH. This course is a required six (6) week clinical rotation in both general and specialty pediatrics that addresses issues regarding the recognition and treatment of common health problems of infants, children, and adolescents. Ambulatory clinics, nursery, and hospital ward service are included. This rotation will result in the acquisition and application of core pediatric knowledge and clinical skills necessary for rural practice. Students will complete this clerkship at sites assigned by the Office of Rural Medical Education in conjunction with the Department of Pediatrics. This course is restricted to students enrolled in the Rural Scholars Program and satisfies the core clerkship in Pediatrics requirement in the general medical school curriculum. Offered Fall and Spring Pass/No Pass
