NURS 5342 Promotion of Safe and Secure Healthcare in a Correctional Environment

3 SCH. This course delves into the intricate workings of correctional healthcare, examining both internal and external units responsible for delivering care. Students will analyze various healthcare delivery models, leadership structures, governance processes, and the role of ancillary services in ensuring effective and safe healthcare within correctional settings. Additionally, the course will address the importance of self-care for correctional healthcare professionals, providing strategies to mitigate stress, prevent burnout, and promote personal well-being.
