MPAS 5255 Neurology

2 SCH. This course presents common conditions encountered in Neurology from the primary care perspective. The course focuses on the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, patient evaluation, and patient management of neurologic complaints. Students also learn the relevant epidemiology, demographics, pathophysiology, expected history and physical, laboratory and imaging studies, treatments, and monitoring. Important patient education, health promotion, and disease prevention will be included. Learning activities and assessments may include, but are not limited to, lectures, labs, case studies, small groups, self-directed study, individual activities, and written and/or lab examinations.
