MPAS 5463 Surgery Practicum

4 SCH. This is a supervised clinical practice experience that focuses on the evaluation and management of the pre-operative and post-operative surgical patient. Students gain experience in the operating room, including proper sterile technique, the efficient use of surgical instruments, and surgical techniques. This practicum contains experiences in adult surgery settings in outpatient and inpatient areas of the discipline. Assessment is conducted using preceptor evaluations, written examination, documentation of patient encounters, and PASS Day activities.
