DPHT 7372 Evidence Based Practice IV

3 SCH. EBP IV continues the focus of DPHT 7244 EBP III with emphasis on the critical analysis of current practice guidelines and clinical trials to answer clinical questions in any practice setting. In addition to lecture and discussion, classroom time will be spent evaluating case scenarios to appraise the evidence and answer questions about examination and interventions, outcomes, clinical practice guidelines and systematic reviews using research designs, variables, measurement and validity. Clinical reasoning and critical thinking are refined and supported through learning activities. Individuals who are working with specific faculty research projects will finalize their writing and/or presentation requirements with their individual mentors and present their projects.
Prerequisite: Prerequisites for this course include all preceding coursework in the curriculum. Any exceptions require approval from the Physical Therapy Department Faculty and Chair.
