MPAS 5205 Clinical Skills

2 SCH. This course covers the indications, contraindications, step-by-step instruction, and the potential complications of multiple invasive and non-invasive procedures commonly performed by physician assistants in clinical practice. This course addresses patient safety, informed consent, standard precautions, radiology review, and proper clinical procedure documentation. In addition, as part of this course, students will be certified in American Heart Association Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Learning activities may include lectures, labs, case studies, small groups, self-directed study, and individual activities. Assessment is conducted using written and lab examinations, participation, and performance of clinical skills.
