2 SCH. Current publications in the general area of chromosomal structure and function in mammalian cells will be discussed in the journal club format. Students are required to participate in the presentation and discussion of current articles related to chromatin structure, nucleosomes, histone proteins, metaphase chromosomes, telomeres, centromeres, nuclear matrix, nuclear pores, nucleolus, nuclear envelope, nuclear laminas, DNA replication, transcription, DNA damage and repair, ribonucleoprotein particles, splicesosomes, and macromolecular interactions in heterochromatin and euchromatin (interphase chromatin).
